Vet Fees Cover

The amount we will pay towards veterinary fees each year. When you renew your policy the full benefit you've chosen is reinstated. We will notify you in advance of your automatic renewal.

We have three levels of cover to choose from:

Vet Fees cover: £3,000

This is the amount we will pay towards veterinary fees each year. When you renew your policy the full benefit you have chosen is reinstated.

Vet Fees cover: £6,500

This is the amount we will pay towards veterinary fees each year. When you renew your policy the full benefit you have chosen is reinstated.

Vet Fees cover: £10,000

This is the amount we will pay towards veterinary fees each year. When you renew your policy the full benefit you have chosen is reinstated.

Benefits included as standard

Benefits included as standard in all equine policies including: Equine Lifetime Lite, Equine Lifetime and Equine Lifetime Plus.

Cover Type: Lifetime

We only offer lifetime cover at Agria, so we will cover ongoing conditions for the rest of your horses' life. Including diagnostics such as MRI and CT and medicines.

Fixed Excess: £160/£300/£420

This is the amount you pay towards a claim each policy year. Choosing the higher excess will mean your premium may be less. A fixed excess amount is only taken once per policy year and will not apply to other claims in that same year.

Co-Insurance: 25%

There is a co-insurance amount applied on all policies to support in keeping your premiums more affordable. This is the percentage that you must pay towards any claims submitted that is covered by the insurance. We calculate the percentage amount on the amount left after the fixed excess has been deducted.

Euthanasia & disposal: Up to £500

Reimbursement is provided to cover your costs for the euthanasia and disposal of the insured horse, if it is euthanised due to an illness or injury covered by the insurance.

Complementary treatment: Up to £1,000

This is the amount we will pay towards complementary treatment, such as physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, each year for illnesses and injuries.

We will offer a 5% discount on each of your policies when you insure more than one horse with us. Maximum of 3 horses will receive 5% discount.

You can also add

Death cover - Compensation is paid up to the sum insured or market value (whichever is less), if your horse becomes ill or is injured so seriously that it dies or has to be euthanised.

Theft or Straying cover is paid up to the sum insured or market value (whichever is less), if your horse is stolen or goes missing.

Covered: Up to market value for Death and Theft or Straying


Loss of Use - Cover is provided up to the insured sum to a maximum benefit of £25,000 or market value (whichever is less), if your horse gets ill or is injured so seriously that it can permanently only perform the activities listed in activity group one.

If an illness or injury results in your horse having a permanent reduced capacity, we will pay the difference between the value insured and the current value of your horse.

Covered: Up to £25,000 for Loss of Use

Important information about x-ray requirements

All radiographs should be clearly labelled with the horse’s name, patient ID number and date.

All radiographs should be adequately exposed and positioned, of diagnostic quality and reviewed in DICOM format.

X-Rays must be no older than 30 days (from the policy start date)
